Follow the Leaders
Chicken is growing faster than any other protein within national
QSR brands, featuring in three out of five of McDonald's Toasted
Deli Sandwiches and all three of Burger King's Baguettes and
no surprise, as it remains the favourite sandwich protein
in the out of home market*, so foodservice outlets should
follow their lead and grab a piece of the action.
Wrap it up with Chicken
Traditional sandwich fillings are still among the nation's
favourites, chicken salad is still THE nation's favourite*,
but consumers are becoming much more adventurous and operators
are responding by using more innovative products on a wide
range of carriers. The rise in popularity of hot sandwich
wraps can be seen in the national QSR brands and again, foodservice
sandwich outlets can cash in on their success.
