SANDWICHES AND SANDWICH FILLINGS

Warming up for Winter
With the winter months just around the corner, demand for hot sandwiches is set to soar. Cafés wanting to capitalise on this opportunity should stock up on Moy Park Foodservice Chicken products to create some delicious sandwich options for customers wanting a warm lunch.

Chicken continues to dominate the sandwich fixture and is growing faster than any other sandwich protein. Last year the BSA estimated over 39,000 tonnes of chicken meat went into sandwiches, compared to just over 8,000 tonnes of ham and 6,500 tonnes of cheese*.

Moy Park Foodservice offers good-value solutions and with value being top of mind, outlets need to come up with fresh new ideas to make customers swap their lunchbox for a knife and fork. "Consumers don't seem to attach a 'real' cost to the contents of their lunchboxes and the challenge for cafes is to entice them with items not so easily made at home, like a hot sandwich, but at an affordable cost" says Jayne Hall, Marketing, Moy Park Foodservice.

Wrap it up with Chicken
Moy Park Foodservice's range of chicken products are perfect for creating a range of mouth-watering sandwiches or wraps; Crunchy Chick 'n' Mini Fillets are especially great for increasing texture and added ‘crunch’. Try these quick-to-make and simple-to-serve recipe ideas:

• Crunchy Chick 'n' Mini Fillets are made using tender chicken breast inner fillets finished with a crunchy southern style coating. This golden coating offers maximum crunch and tastes great in a warm wholemeal pitta bread with slices of avocado and mayonnaise

• Hot & Spicy Chickwich™ Dippers are made with 100% breast meat and are coated in a signature mouth tingling, hot and spicy batter. Try serving wrapped in a plain or chilli tortilla with raita and slices of cucumber

• Breaded Chicken Dippers are a classic favourite, also made with 100% breast meat and coated in delicious golden breadcrumbs. Try serving in a olive ciabatta with mixed leaves and lemon mayonnaise

• Diced Chicken Tikka is coated in a lightly spiced Tikka marinade and can be used in a wide variety of bread carriers, hot or cold. For something a little different, try wrapping in a Middle Eastern Tanour bread and toasting in a Panini grill until crisp.
